Whether
you're looking for the perfect room, perfect photos, or just a great
evening out, cambodiahome.com is where insiders go to
maximize their experience and discover the best of Cambodia.
Cambodia’s government is a coalition, between the CPP
(Cambodian People’s Party) under Hun Sen (Prime
Minister), and FUNCINPEC (the French acronym for the
National United Front for an Independent, Neutral,
Peaceful and Cooperative Cambodia), under Prince
Ranariddh (President of the National Assembly).
The coalition came into being after the resolution of
conflict over results after the 2003 elections. At the
same time, the monarchy is still very much in evidence:
the returned and aged King Sihanouk abdicated in favor
of his son King Sihamoni in 2004.
Cambodia is now calmer and more peaceful than it has
been in decades. The country is currently attempting to
develop, and there are many programs and projects in
force to build the capacity of the country.
If
you take a trip around the cities and countryside, you
will be able to see numerous NGO and INGO offices;
working together with government, the World Bank and the
UN, there is a more protracted effort than ever before
to reduce poverty and increase productivity.
