A passport with at least four-month validity is required. Don’t forget to take one passport photo with you.

A visa is required for most nationalities. One-month visas are available on arrival at the international airports in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, and at border crossings with Thailand and Vietnam (not Laos).

Tourist visas are currently US$20 and business visas are US$25; this is subject to change so check this out before you arrive.

You can extend business visas indefinitely, but tourist visas can only be extended once. Extend visas directly at the Department for Foreigners on Airport Road (Confederation de la Russie) opposite the airport. They can be reached at Tel: +855-(12)-581-558; (Local Call: 012-581 558); Fax: 023-890380 or E-mail: visas_info@online.com.kh. It is usually easier and only a little bit more expensive to go to any travel agency who can do it for you with no problem.

The Ordinary Passport holders of the countries of Laos, Malaysia and The Philippines do not need to apply for a visa.

For the Laos and Malaysia Ordinary Passport holders can enter and stay in Cambodia for the period of 30 days where as those of The Philippines can stay for 21 days without a visa.

The Diplomatic and Official Passport holders of Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and The Philippines, and Asian Secretariats, can enter and stay in Cambodia for 30 days without a Cambodia visa.

A visa is normally issued for the period of one month. If any individual needs to stay longer than the standard period of one month, a three-month visa can be granted upon application to the Ministry of Interior, and the fee for this kind of visa is 60.00 US dollars.

Tourist type visas can be extended for one month, but only one time extension. Business visas can be renewed infinitely - one, three, six or twelve months.

Business Visa can be also extended via the Cambodia Development Council (CDC) located next to Wat Phnom. As for Diplomatic, Official and Courtesy Visa can be renewed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Those who are in Siem Reap can renew their visa at the Office for Foreign Aliens in Siem Reap town.

Travel within cities and provincial towns of Cambodia is generally safe, but business travellers should consult with their own embassies or consulates in Cambodia. For a list of Foreign Consulates/Embassies or any other Diplomatic Missions in Cambodia, please go to the Foreign Embassies Section of this website.
