Whether
you're looking for the perfect room, perfect photos, or just a great
evening out, cambodiahome.com is where insiders go to
maximize their experience and discover the best of Cambodia.
You can buy most things you need in
Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia. For souvenirs,
clothing, DVDs and other, the Russian Market is hard to
beat. Other markets include the imposing Central Market
(Phsar Thmei) and the Old Market, which have fewer
tourists and English speakers, but more atmosphere and
authenticity.
Other places for antiques are scattered
around the riverfront area. Modern young Cambodians like
to shop at the Soriya Center, but there are plenty of
other shops for everyday needs.
Western food and most toiletries you
could need are to be found at Lucky Supermarket and Pencil
Supermarket, and there are many pharmacies all over town
(those in the center more commonly have English
speakers).
If you are in Siem Reap, shopping in Siem Reap can be a treat.
Apart from the shops at Artisans d’Angkor, you can spend
time strolling around one of the traditional markets –
Psar Chas or Psar Leu – where you can find souvenirs and
many useful items. There are also a number of up-market
boutiques where you can buy fine gifts. Take some time
when you are shopping in Siem Reap and look around –
prices can vary greatly and it’s worth checking other
shops out and doing some bargaining.
